A Shattered Praise

It's been interesting today. Cale has been really agitated and angry all day. There was a point yesterday that was the same, just very unhappy. It was a little after 1pm, he was calm so I decided to cuddle for a bit :) When I walked to the bed he reached his arm out to me. Ahh...I just really love those moments! I laid next to him, my head on his chest and listened to his heat beat. I was reminded that there was a few days Cale was fighting for his life, every beat of his heart is a blessing, every breath is a blessing.

I know there are so many of you praying for Cale and I'm very grateful! Today I met someone that I would like to ask you to also pray for. Her name is Amy and her husband just arrived in Cale's unit. She is incredibly sweet and I know God is going to do amazing things in our new friendship. Her husbands accident was about a month ago and has injuries on the same side as Cale. My heart is breaking for her because I know how I was feeling at that stage. I'm praying that God would use me to be a blessing to her. Would you join me in praying for her husband Adam's recovery? She is already so precious to me and I've only known her a few hours!

I heard a song today that I wanted to share. The words seem so perfect for all the things in my heart. I had to listen to it a few times, I encourage you to listen to it, it's so beautiful.

Broken Hallelujah-Mandisa
With my love and my sadness
I come before You Lord
My heart’s in a thousand pieces
Maybe even more

Yet I trust in this moment
You’re with me somehow
And You’ve always been faithful
So Lord even now

When all that I can sing
Is a broken hallelujah
When my only offering
Is shattered praise
Still a song of adoration
Will rise up from these ruins
I will worship You and give You thanks
Even when my only praise
Is a broken hallelujah

Oh Father, You have given
Much more than I deserve
And I have felt Your hand of blessing
On me at every turn

How could I doubt Your goodness
Your wisdom, Your grace
So Lord hear my heart
In this painful place

I lift my voice
Your Spirit moves
I raise my hands
I reach for You

  1. Every single time I come on hear I promise myself I am not going to cry I am not going to cry but here I sit in a million tears. Tears of gratefulness for Cale's recovery. Tears of gratefulness for your courage and strength through all of this. Tears of gratefulness to have one such as you to call my friend. Tears of gratefulness that He would use you even now to help another in need of strength hope and courage and His mighty voice of grace. Tears of hope for all of you. And tears of love and prayers for all of you.
As always you are forever in our thoughts and prayers and your new friend will of course be added to our prayer list,
    We love you sweetheart,
    Jean and Charlie

    P.S. Package going out tomorrow.

  2. It's so neat to see how God's hand is in everything and how much in control He is! I go to Salem Baptist and my husband and I have been reading your updates and praying for you and your husband. Amy and Adam are good friends of ours and I have been wanting you and Amy to meet for a while. Unfortunately, it has never worked out where I could get you both in touch with each other, so it seems God did instead! I'm so glad the both of you have been able to meet each other finally! I know that you both can be such a great source support and encouragement for each other! My husband and I have been and will continue to fervently be praying for the both of you and your husbands and that the Lord's goodness and mercy will be evident in both situations!

  3. Kathleen,

I suspect this is a part of God's purpose in keeping you all here awhile longer.

I have been following Amy's blog along with yours (I'm at Salem too) and we prayed last night during our prayer group that your path's would cross and that you could be an encouragement to each other.

Both of you have such AMAZING faith in God and the way in which you both rely on Him alone is such a mighty and powerful witness to others.

Thanking God that He connected the two of you.

Continuing to pray for miracles for both you and Amy.

    From Salem

  4. Kathleen, you have been such a wonderful answer to my prayers... knowing what I feel, God is truly amazing how faithful he is in answering the cries of our hearts. I am so blessed to have met you today and I look forward to sharing in eachothers journeys. Thank you for your prayers, I am praying fervently for Cale's continued recovery.

    In Him,

  5. It was such a pleasure to meet you today. I am certain God has quite a plan for your friendship He brought forth between you and Amy. God is so good and knows our need. His timing is perfect. You have already brought a comfort to Amy. I will follow your blog as I head back to Seattle on Sat. I will look forward to seeing you again on my return visit to NC.
May God give you His peace as you walk hand in hand with Him.

  6. Kathleen,
Brent and I continue to pray for you. You are in our thoughts each and every day. I am so glad that you have Amy. The two of you can lean on each other, hold each others hand, and lend a should to cry on when needed. You also have someone to celebrate the milestones with! It is such a blessing to see Cale out of the bed and walking. He has come so far since you left Greenville. Praise God!
