Update - Kathy

The doctor told us this morning that Cale's white count went up last night. They will be doing another bronchoscopy today to check for any other infections they may not be aware of. Right now he is on two very strong antibiotics to treat the pneumonia and possible meningitis. He explained by checking for other infections, if they are present, they will better know how to treat them. They also did blood and urine cultures as well. He seemed a little bit more agitated today so I asked about the heart rate being up a bit. His nurse said that Cale is young and has a strong heart so we need to look at that as secondary and it hasn't been in a danger zone. As I sit there and try to comfort my son I feel so helpless as a mom. I just want to take away everything and make it all better.

I pray for your son and I pray for your family, My god hear my prayers and keep your child safe. As My mother use to tell us WWGAGWWWY. For the one who do not know what this means... " walk with god and god will walk with you"

  4. Kathy your dear son indeed has a strong heart. I know that because before he went off on his last tour to far off lands...I spoke with him. I walked up to him and placed my right hand upon his heart and told him that I will be praying for his safe return home. His kind blue eyes smiled a shy thank you and he and Kathleen walked on their way. I know their story is just beginning...
I know how hard the sitting can be beside a loved one with his eyes resting. Wipe his face gently with a warm cloth and put some soothing balm on his lips so they do not become cracked...a mother's hand is good medicine with a tender touch.
I have been reading this scripture today and hope it comforts all of you a little bit...
LAMENTATIONS 3~25: The Lord is wonderfully good to those who wait for him, to those who seek him. It is good to both hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. <><

  6. I don't know you, but Caleb and Kathleen were in our small group at church here in NY. My heart aches for you. As a mother myself, it is the greatest pain to watch your children in pain and not be able to do anything to make them better...No matter what age. I often say the prayers of my parents kept me away from harm during my teenage years, so don't underestimate the prayers of a mother. :-) Be encouraged for His plans r greater than ours! We are praying for your whole family. Maybe God give you joy, hope, and peace.

    Sarah
