4th of July?!

I can't believe it's already the 4th of July! I wish I knew what Cale was thinking this morning, when I told him what day it is. Does he understand what I'm saying? Is he confused, wondering what happened to February? I can't wait to hear all of his thoughts!

Everyday is getting better and better. Cale was so active today! We played ball outside, went for a walk in the parking lot, and sat in the waiting room for awhile. While we were in the waiting room, Cale was playing with my camera and he took a picture of me and Rachel! When he did it the other day with my phone, I was thinking, he might have just been pushing a button over and over, and just happened to take a picture. I don't believe that's what happened, but it was a thought. Well, today, when we asked Cale to take a picture of us, he held the camera up, then with his fingers he did 1, 2, 3, and then put his finger on the right button and took the picture! That wasn't just randomly pushing a button! WOW! I'd say he did a good job...I think I might have a photographer on my hands! heehee!

Also, Cale's new favorite thing is to hold my cell to his ear and listen to someone talk (you might be getting a call...). This afternoon, Cale was reaching out for my phone so I called his mom. When Cale took the phone and Kathy said "Hi Cale!", he made a noise! He only did it once, but I'm hoping it's like everything else and we see lots more of it soon!

I wish that every one of you reading, had the chance to spend a day with Cale and I. I try to describe our days and all of his progress, but I don't think there is any way to explain where he's at in this stage. There is something so amazing about getting to watch him as he examines objects and tries to put some connection with them. He prayed with me again tonight, and he listened as I shared about my prayer time this morning. Things are definitely happening with the Darling Family :)

Hi Kathleen and Cale, We here in Michigan keep up to date on Cale and his progress very often. We are praying for a complete recovery for Cale. His progress is truly amazing and a miracle from God for all to witness. You both have shown how strong you are and Cales determination is showing through. He's fighting to get his life back. Kathleen, you can only take things one day at a time. Your frustrations are understandable. Our prayers are always with you...
