A Good Day

It's been a good day. After OT this morning Cale and I went outside to the garden and had our own little church service. It was so nice. The weather was perfect, I had my ipod so we could listen to worship music, we read and discussed scripture, and we spent a while praying together. It was a sweet time of worship...

We discussed Leviticus 22:32 "Do not treat my holy name as common and ordinary. I must be treated as holy by the people of Israel. It is I, the Lord who makes you holy." There was a note in the margin of my Bible that I had written a while ago that says "In what areas of my life or times during each day, do I treat His name as ordinary or common?" It was an amazing time getting to discuss God's word with Cale again. He may not have an audible voice, but his head nods work too :)

After our discussion, we had a little bit of fun taking some pictures. I would say it was still a part of our worship time, because aren't we supposed to worship God in everything we do? :)

So, after a great afternoon, it was time for PT. Something really big happened...Cale transferred himself! He did it several times!!! When Mitch first came in to get him, Cale and I were sitting on the edge of the bed. He pulled the wheelchair over and told Cale that he wanted him to get from the bed to the chair. He had Cale scoot over and said "okay, let's see what you can do" I was thinking does he realize Cale can't do that?! Well, the first time Cale already almost did it all by himself, then we went to the gym and he did it a few times! Yikes! That's my husband! :)

One of the things I can feel my heart struggling with is being content with where Cale is right now. The other patients here are a lot farther a long than Cale and that part is so encouraging! At the facility here, one of the things they do for the patients, is when they get to a certain point they have outings in the community for them. Once they get even further, I'll be able to take Cale out just the two of us (so can't wait for our first date! I already have a dress!). Well, he's not there yet, and that's okay. God has a perfect time for each step we go through. Cale is making so much progress already!

Paul was able to find that place of contentment and he states it very well.
"I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Philippians 4:10-12

I have a feeling this heart hurtle is going to be a little painful, but I'll get there!

  1. Crying tears like rain I am so happy for you.Even though I knew he was going to do it I was on the edge of my seat going " Come on Cale you can do it" Yay Cale. Love as always the pictures. Good California sunshine ...just what you both need. Keep up the good work and keep your eyes on Jesus..He will NEVER let you down. Love you angel.
