Yay for Friday!

I'm whooped. After getting back really late Monday night and getting up super early Tuesday morning...and having the week stay like that-I'm exhausted! So is Cale! This afternoon he cuddled up next to me and was snoozing away :) It's nice that tomorrow is Saturday and even though he still has therapy's the weekend is a lot more chill.

Cale had a audiology appointment this morning. The last one he went to he was tired when he got there, so they weren't able to get much of the testing done. This time, he was able to go through all of it and the same lady had him this time. She kept saying "Caleb you did so good!" and "I'm so thrilled with how far you've come!" he does have hearing loss in both ears. Some of it we knew before the accident, it happened while in the Army, but there is some in the left side now that wasn't there before. She said for now he's doing okay how it is.

After all his therapy's were over, Cale went with me to Dairy Queen! He loves Blizzards so I thought it would be a yummy treat for today. He definitely still loves them!

He was super excited about it!

In ST Patty did some more testing. Here are a few questions that Cale was mixed up on-
Q: What do you do with a pencil?
A: eat

Q: What do you cut paper with?
A: a knife

Q: What do you light candles with?
A: watches (so close to matches! He was meaning watches though...)

Even though it's actually really sad that he can't answer these questions and he gets so mixed up with his words, it's really funny at the same time. I guess it's one of those things that all you can do is laugh :) When we would explain to Cale the right answer and what he was saying, he would say "Oh!" and then laugh! He seems to have a great attitude for the most part! He did get quite a few questions right too!

In Hebrews 10 it says "When all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew you had better things waiting for you in eternity."

When I read it, I shouted "yes!" With all of this that we're going through I can accept it with joy because there ARE better things waiting for me! It reminded me that this is not about me, it's not about Cale. This life we're living isn't about us and never has been. The Bible says that we are strangers here on earth. This is not a forever thing! So, Cale and I as Mr. and Mrs. Darling, accept this with joy and fully trust in the Lord and all he is doing!

(Now, I'm just going to have to keep reminding myself!) ;)
