Happy 7 years!

A marriage is measured
by more than just years-
it’s measured by living,
by laughter, and tears…
by good times, contentment,
and dreams that come true…
and also by hard times
that love brings you through.
A marriage is greater
than simply the sum
of all you’ve accomplished
and how far you’ve come…
it’s people whose lives
you have touched in some way
and values you’ve stood for
and lived day by day.
A marriage is measured by
lessons you’ve learned,
examples you’ve set,
and respect you have earned.
It’s forged in the balance
The two of you find
In partnership, friendship,
And love all combined.

The words above were from a card that Cale’s mom Kathy had given us for our special day to day; our anniversary. I loved some of the wording and thought I’d share with ya! :o)

When I woke up this morning lying next to Cale, I thought about how on this day 7 years ago I woke up excited that I was about to marry my prince. We were getting pictures done that morning and the whole way to his house to pick him up my tummy had not just butterflies, but butterflies full of Mt. Dew! That evening with just a few people with us, I walked down the aisle and when my eyes locked with his, the peace that passes all understanding covered me like a blanket. With tears in my eyes I spoke with a soft shaky voice promises to love and cherish him for richer or poorer and in sickness and health. I may have been just a young girl, but every word that was spoken was spoken for life.

We’ve had our challenges and struggles, our time of laughter and playfulness, and there have been many tears over the years. We are living the perfect love story the Lord has written and I am so thankful and blessed to be Mrs. Darling through it all!

I love you Caleb!

  1. H A P P Y A N I V E R S A R Y!!!!!!!!!!! I will remember your anniversary after this. Today was my husbands birthday. Kathleen, Father has touched you in a special way. You have at a young age what many people much older don't have...commitment, much love in the time of "opportunity" and the grace of the Living God flowing through your spirit. I am honored to be a part of your life. I love you, Marion
